Van Buren St. is an east-west corridor that travels through the city of Phoenix, Arizona. When I lived in Phoenix, in the 1990's, a 2-mile stretch of the street was home to a vibrant sex-trade. A few dozen low-rent motels, like the Copa Inn, lined both sides of the street. The motels primarily catered to transients and sex workers. Some of the motels rented rooms by the hour. Lot of them had cool signs.
