The city of Clarksdale is located on the banks of the Sunflower River in the Delta region of Mississippi. It is widely recognized as the birthplace of blues music. Clarksdale is also home to the Crossroads or more specifically, the place of the map where highway 61 and highway 49 intersect. In blues lure, this is the location where a young Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil in exchange for his prowess on the guitar. Because of this history, Clarksdale remains a bonafide Mecca for people who love the Blues.

Today, the vintage marquee of Clarksdale's New Roxy theater is a pretty good metaphor for the city itself. It's cool but rough around the edges.
