Katz's Deli in New York City is an old-school institution. Founded in 1888, they have been selling sandwiches to generations of New Yorkers and tourists for 140-years. During World War II, the owner's 3-sons all served in the U.S. armed forces. It was at that time when the family's tradition of sending food to their sons became the company's slogan. To this day, “Send A Salami To Your Boy In The Army” is a phrase that people associate with this cultural landmark.
